In recent years the main themes in my paintings have been human relations and varied social situations. Evenings spent in company, contacts and meetings are seen in diverse environments, in the midst of every day circumstances. To describe social situations, I place people in different spaces, such as cafés, lobbies and bright terraces. The spaces confined by architecture or the views that unfold create an ambience and an overtone of the situations.

While working on the series “Spaces, Situations”, I noticed a third theme rising beside human interaction and architecture: the space in between. In the end, my paintings are not formed by the visible parts – the people and the constructed environment – but by the empty space and the light that appears between everything else.
