In the series “People and Relations” I examine the inevitable shallowness of human relationships and the isolation of individuals. At the same time they deal with the human need for social relationships and the joy these relationships bring, as well as the difficulty and challenges of these encounters.

My paintings develop through drafts and photos. I get the visual ideas from my environment and memories. Together they form a variety of stories, thoughts and moods. The characters may be people from my own life, but they can also be from advertisements and the history of art.
